West Bromwich Albion have been dealt a bitter blow this week after the extent of Kieran Gibbs’ latest injury was revealed.
The left-back was forced off after just 15 minutes in their New Year’s Day tie with Leeds United as he suffered from yet another problem.

Results of a scan have proven Slaven Bilic’s original fears after the Croatian confirmed he would be without 30-year-old for the foreseeable future. He said:
“Yeah, he’s going to be out for, I don’t know, four or five weeks, it’s quite a long time. It’s his hamstring, the one he did against Swansea.”
Bilic also suggested that Nathan Ferguson was out injured too, so it means the Baggies only have one fit option at left-back, Conor Townsend.
The 26-year-old has a lot to prove as he frequently divides opinion amongst the Albion faithful as seen here against Barnsley when he was praised for changing the game before being slammed against Birmingham City just a few weeks later.
One minute he’s being compared to West Brom legend Chris Brunt, and then the next, he’s brandished a liability.
He’ll have to perform over the next couple of matches as Gibbs is sure to miss out for the rest of the month, if he doesn’t play as expected, then Bilic may look to use the transfer market as we have suggested in the past here.
