Tottenham Hotspur’s relationship with Gareth Bale just will never go away, will it?
Not for the first time this season, the north Londoners have been mooted with a sentimental reunion with their former star, and it’s safe to say that many supporters are sick of hearing it.
According to Marca, Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is prepared to let the Welshman leave Los Galacticos for free in order to shift him out the La Liga outfit with the source suggesting the Premier League as a potential destination.
The Sun have since referenced the aforementioned report and thrown both Manchester United and, of course, Spurs into the mix.
Fans have been reacting to the news on social media.
Here’s what has been said…
Predictably, some sections of the Spurs faithful were getting a bit tired hearing the same Bale return rumours, blasting it for being “boring” while one supporter joked that in the year 2080, they’ll still be keen on signing the winger aged 90.
Back in November, Bale was touted as potentially being Jose Mourinho’s first signing of the January transfer window – obviously, that didn’t happen and those reports are surfacing once again.

The 30-year-old left White Hart Lane back in 2013 for a then-world record £85m and has been at Madrid ever since.
Plenty of others referenced the past and whether or not he’s even up to his former standard – he bagged 56 goals and provided 58 assists in 203 appearances, as per Transfermarkt’s recorded matches.
Who also now value him at a measly £36m.
One fan claimed Bale would be too old and too injury-prone for their Premier League challenge next season while some sarcastically joked that they’d also be in for Leandro Damiao, a former and frequently linked target of years gone by.
These reports to Bale are so tedious that a further Spurs supporter believed there was more chance of ex-striker Mido returning to the club.
There were also some members of the Spurs fanbase questioning whether the finances could even work, especially with chairman Daniel Levy the key decision-maker at the north London club.
This’ll no doubt be one that rumbles onto the summer.
Who on earth is that?!?! Can you name all of these obscure January signings?
