The Welsh side started their journey at TST against FC Roha Eagles on Wednesday morning. The women's team are also set to participate in the tournament and were in attendance to watch their male counterparts in action in a group stage encounter. Wrexham co-owner, McElhenney, appreciated the gesture and shared a tweet from the official TST account in his Instagram story.

Despite the loud cheers from the women's team, Wrexham fell to beat the Eagles and succumbed to a 4-2 defeat. Veysel Kayantas scored a brace while Granit Neziri and Adrian Rama found the net once to send the League One side packing. George Boyd and Gary Hooper got on the scoresheet for Wrexham.
