The transfer window is dubbed as silly season for a reason.

For a few months every year fans become obsessed with who their club are going to get through the door, and some go to great lengths to make links that may not even be there.

One man who has been linked to Leeds United is Andre Gray, and one eagle-eyed Whites supporter pointed out that he’s following both Adam Forshaw and Patrick Bamford on Instagram.

It could be something of nothing, but another supporter went on to point out that Stuart Dallas and Ben White are also following him back.

Now, this isn’t to say that a move is on, Gray is a Premier League footballer, and it’s no real shock to see other players have an interest in him, but Leeds fans have also had these types of conspiracy theories before and they’ve been proven right.

Just last summer, fans were pointing out that Helder Costa had followed the club on Instagram before his arrival was eventually announced, and Gray’s account seems to have supporters reacting in the same way.

Football Insider reported over the weekend that Leeds felt as though they had been priced out of a move for the Hornets forward.

A £2m loan fee had been touted but it was claimed that Marcelo Bielsa’s men would have to pay the entirety of his £80k per week wages.

Whether a deal can be concluded, however, remains to be seen.

In other news, Leeds could kill two birds with one stone with this loan signing.
