As reported by The Daily Record, Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths has told Rangers to be careful what they wish for after being demolished in Sunday’s Scottish Cup semi-final.
What’s the story?
Light Blues manager Graeme Murty revealed after the draw was made that his players cheered in the dressing room when they heard they would play Celtic, something that seems to have caught the attention of the Celtic squad prior to the match.
Striker Leigh Griffiths is clearly taking great joy in the result and spoke after the game about Celtic’s dominance over the rest of Scottish football.
As quoted by The Daily Record, the Scotland international said:
I don’t see how they can be happy after that. They’ll need to go back to the drawing board and figure out where they’ve gone wrong. When we bring our A game, then nobody in Scotland can touch us.
You saw that on Sunday. That was a game that they cheered for. Their manager said that, but you should be careful what you wish for in case it comes back to bite you on the a**e.
You always want to beat your rivals and, from start to finish, we dominated the game in every aspect.
It’s clear that comments before the game had a say in motivating the Hoops to really make a statement on Sunday and so it may have been a mistake for Graeme Murty to publicly admit they were relishing taking on the reigning cup winners.

Will Rangers ever catch Celtic?
The prospect of the Gers getting close to Celtic next season seem slim. The Hoops are unbeaten in the 10 derbies that have occurred since Brendan Rodgers arrived in Glasgow, with three of them settled by a four-goal margin.
Every time the fixture promises to be something of a contest, Celtic raise their game and show who is boss.
If the Ibrox club are ever going to compete for major honours they need a real re-think of recruitment, management and culture at the club, otherwise bad weeks like this one are only going to continue.
