Just when it looked like Ten Hag would be sacked, the Dutchman was kept on at Old Trafford – despite leading United to their lowest-ever Premier League finish of eighth in the 2023-24 season. It appears the sheer number of injuries his side endured and their FA Cup triumph saved him and now the ex-Ajax boss is seemingly preparing to shape the coaching team around him as they try to bounce back next term.

Hake led Go Ahead Eagles to ninth in the Eredivisie last season and has previously managed at Twente and Utrecht.
WHAT NEXT?
Ten Hag and the United players who are not representing their countries at Euro 2024 or Copa America are reportedly due back for pre-season on July 8. It remains to be seen if Van Nistelrooy and Hake will be in place the club by then.
