According to The Daily Telegraph, Stoke City boss Gary Rowett is ready to target his former club and make a £5m January move for Birmingham striker Che Adams, but Blues fans on Twitter have been laughing off the potential bid and believe it is well below the front man’s market value.
Rowett was in charge of Birmingham for just over two years between 2014 and 2016, and he was the manager who brought Adams to St Andrews during his final transfer window. Now in charge of Stoke though, Rowett is clearly looking for a reunion with the 22-year-old to improve his side’s firepower up front.

In fact, the Potters have only scored 19 goals in 17 games so far this season and their last two matches have ended in goalless draws against Middlesbrough and Nottingham Forest.
Adams on the other hand has been on fire, scoring eight goals in 17 appearances, including a hat-trick in the last game against Hull City and the winner against Rowett’s Stoke in October. The prolific striker also signed a five-year deal with the Blues in September 2017 so he certainly won’t come cheap if any club does want to convince him to leave.
